Carrie: 1976 vs 2013
The movie Carrie is based on the novel by the same term, written by Stephen King in 1974 and is also the story of any shy, awkward outcast named Carrie White colored who finally uses her newly uncovered telekinetic forces to exact revenge in those who tease and ridicule her. Barbara lives with her deeply religious and somewhat neurotic mother who has raised Carrie to believe that she must be ashamed pertaining to simply existing. In the 1976 version directed by Brian DePalma it character is usually played simply by Sissy Spacek and her mother by simply Piper Laurie. In 2013, director Kimberly Pierce chose Chloe Mortez and Julianne Moore intended for the parts.
Both variations of the film evoke feelings of accord and shame for the smoothness of Carrie White. Carrie is constantly mocked and tempted at school and abused by her mother in the home. She is aware of nothing about the changes going on to her physique and is surprised and afraid when the girl starts her period for the first time in school. She's then suffering from the different girls inside the locker area. The 2013 version does not stray far from original, to get same simple structure, but it is somewhat modernized. Raising modernization is a addition of cyber-bullying. The whole locker space incident was recorded and posted on line and also replayed on the prom for everybody to see. As if having a container of pig's blood broke up with on her head wasn't enough. This increases Carries trend in the remake and enhances the feelings in back of her vengeance.
Another change from the initial is the addition of Carrie's birth while the beginning scene. Margaret is mixed up by what is occurring to her and assumes that she is about to die.
