" Glasgow 5th of March 1971” by Edwin Morgan can be an instamatic poem which describes a great incident over a Glasgow road when a young couple will be pushed in reverse through a shop window by two youth adults who will be intent about robbing the shop. The poem procedes describe the attitude or maybe the youths and those who are viewing the criminal offense. The poet has not shown up in the composition as he reveals no emotion, but he makes the visitor feel, through his description of the photos that are captured by his use of metaphors, onomatopoeia and repetition, that they are witnessing the crime. The first stanza has a concept of the loss, which is slowly unveiled throughout the composition as the poet starts to describe the foreground and introduces someone to the incident:

Morgan has used the phrase ‘ragged' to help make the glass appear uneven, busted and unfixable. This makes the violent image even more instamatic even as we imagine the risk approaching the young couple. In the 1st stanza, he uses an onomatopoeia ‘shattered plate glass'. The repeat of ‘sh' sounds like cup showering upon the ground. Inside the second stanza, he reveals the damage the youths have got caused to the couple, in a very sinister fashion;
" The young mans face is definitely bristling with fragments of glass”
We can tell in the use of ‘bristling' that it wasn't just a few bits of glass that will take almost no time to be eliminated as his face was covered in little components of glass. This kind of represents the life span changing facet of this harm as his face will very likely be highly scarred. This metaphor likewise compares the pieces of a glass embedded in the face with stubble, which usually shows how young this kind of man is usually who has merely been traumatised with this kind of attack.
